The preparation method of the midbody comprises the steps that 1-halogen-7-alkoxy naphthalene is used as a raw material and is subjected to alkylation reaction so as to obtain a compound shown in a formula (2), the obtained compound shown in the formula (2) is subjected to grignard reaction so as to obtain a compound shown in a formula (3), the compound shown in the formula (3) reacts with trifluoroacetic anhydride so as to obtain a compound shown in a formula (4), and the compound shown in the formula (4) is a new midbody compound for synthesizing agomelatine and derivatives thereof; meanwhile the compound shown in the formula (4) reacts with sodium azide so as to obtain a compound shown in a formula (5), which is also a new midbody compound for synthesizing agomelatine and derivatives thereof; and the agomelatine and agomelatine derivatives suitable for industrial production can be obtained through simple reaction such as hydrogenation reaction, electrophilic substitution and the like of the compound shown in the formula (5), wherein in the formula, R is an alkyl radical, and X is F, Cl, Br and I.
