abstract The invention discloses highly hygroscopic polyester fibers and an application thereof. An orientation degree of the fibers is below 0.200; the surfaces or the interiors of the fibers comprise one or more of methylnaphthalene, benzyl benzoate, dichloromethane and biphenyl phenol; carboxyl group content on the surfaces or in the interiors of the fibers is below 10%; and the surfaces or the interiors of the fibers comprise a citric acid component. The obtained polyester fibers have relatively good hygroscopicity; a processing method is simple and practical; and textiles formed by the polyester fibers have excellent handfeel and good washing endurance.
