abstract The invention provides an indication method for Cd-PCB (Cadmium-Polychlorinated Biphenyl) polluted soil by using maidenhair flowers. The indication method comprises the following steps: (1) detecting a chemical fingerprint chromatography of flavonoid pigments in maidenhairs by using an ultrasonic-high performance liquid chromatography; and carrying out chemical affiliation and quantification on all obtained characteristic peaks; and (2) analyzing a relation among the content of flavonoid substances, the color of the maidenhair flowers and the soil pollution PCB-Cd by combining the color of the maidenhair flowers so as to determine the indication property to the soil pollution by the color of the maidenhair flowers. The indication method has the advantages that the sensitive indication method for the soil pollution PCB-Cd by the flavonoid substances in plant flowers is disclosed for the first time; the indication method can be used for diagnosing the soil pollution condition and the health degree so as to provide very good theoretical basis for subsequent researches. The method has very good sensitivity on micro-pollutants in the soil and can be used as a monitoring method for early warming of the soil pollution. Compared with a traditional chemical method, the indication method is more visualized, the operation is simpler and the cost is lower.
