abstract The invention discloses a methanol fuel for a compression ignition type engine. The methanol fuel comprises methanol, diesel or diesel component oil, a cosolvent and a cetane number improver which are mixed according to a certain volume percentage to form the methanol fuel. According to the invention, the methanol fuel material formula with an efficient fluxing effect is developed, so that not only are problems that the existing methanol fuel has a complex additive component and easily causes corrosion and swelling, and a tail gas is difficult to purify solved, but also cost of the methanol fuel is lowered.
