abstract The invention provides a viscosity stabilizer and an application thereof in preparation of a detergent. The viscosity stabilizer comprises a component (a) and a component (b), wherein the component (a) is selected from at least one of carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose or xanthan gum; the component (b) is selected from at least one of sodium citrate, potassium citrate, sodium chloride or sodium sulfate. The invention further provides a mild detergent with stable viscosity. The mild detergent comprises the following components in parts by weight based on the total weight of the mild detergent: 0.1% to 0.3% of the viscosity stabilizer, 28% to 32% of alpha-olefine sulfonate, 8% to 12% of alkyl glycoside, 3% to 7% of cocamidopropylamine oxide, 0.25% to 0.35% of citric acid, 0.03% to 0.5% of ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid disodium salt, 0.02% to 0.5% of a preservative, 0.01% to 0.5% of essence and the balance of water, wherein the viscosity stabilizer provided by the invention is adopted; the weight ratio of the component (a) to the component (b) in the viscosity stabilizer is (6:4)-(10:1).
