The invention relates to a new use of a common pternopetalum root extract, and particularly relates to the use of the common pternopetalum root extract in the field of pharmacy. The use concretely comprises the functions of treating and preventing dysmenorrheal, treating and preventing hypertension, treating and preventing atherosclerosis, treating and preventing cerebral thrombosis and the like caused by cerebral apoplexy. The common pternopetalum root extract is safe and non-toxic, and strong in pharmacologic action, and heralds a good medicinal prospect; meanwhile, the common pternopetalum root extract is simple in preparation process, and can be prepared into capsules, tablets, cream and oiling agents to be taken orally or used externally. |
