abstract The invention provides an application of new mangiferin to prevention and treatment of diabetic nephropathy. A plurality of pharmacology experiments prove that the new mangiferin can correct redox unbalance, inhibit generation and aggregation of AGE (Advanced Glycation End Product), inhibit activity of a polyhydric alcohol loop and regulate lipid metabolism so as to resist development of diabetic nephropathy and improve the renal function. Therefore, the new mangiferin has a prospect of treating diabetic nephropathy.
