The present invention discloses a method of preparing a stabilized and flame-retardant polyethylene article comprising adding to a polyethylene substrate an effective stabilizing amount of one or more macrocyclic hindered amine light stabilizers and an effective flame-retardant amount One or more brominated flame retardants, and subjecting the resulting polyethylene mixture to a temperature of 250°C or higher, for example to a temperature of 280°C or higher. The polyethylene article is produced, for example, by high temperature rotomolding or high temperature film or laminated film extrusion. The article is white, has a smooth surface and produces little or no odor. The macrocyclic hindered amine is, for example, |
