According to one embodiment, the oxide superconductor comprises an aligned superconductor layer and an oxide layer. The aligned superconductor layer contains 2.0×10 16 to 5.0×10 19 atoms/cc of fluorine and 1.0×10 18 to 5.0×10 20 atoms/cc of carbon. A superconductor layer containing 90% or more of a portion oriented along the c-axis with an in-plane orientation degree (Δφ) of 10 degrees or less, and containing a LnBa 2 Cu 3 O 7-x superconductor material (Ln is yttrium (Y), or lanthanides other than cerium (Ce), praseodymium (Pr), promethium (Pm), and lutetium (Lu)). The oxide layer is arranged in contact with the lower surface of the superconductor layer, and is oriented with an in-plane orientation degree (Δφ) of 10 degrees or less with respect to one crystal axis of the superconductor layer. The area of the lower surface portion of the superconductor layer in contact with the oxide layer is 0.3 or less of the area of the region directly below the superconductor layer. |
