In the surface coating cutting tool, a surface of a tool base body is provided with a base layer, and an upper part of the tool base body is provided with an A12O3 hard coating layer constituted by a bottom layer and an upper layer in a wrapped manner. The bottom layer is constituted by a crystallization A12O3 layer, and the upper layer is constituted by a non-crystallization SiO2. Concave parts of the bottom layer are provided, and are filled with the non-crystallization SiO2 layer disposed on the upper layer in an embedded manner to form a film. And the average depth of the concave parts is in a range from 0.5-10.0(mu)m, and the average vertical-horizontal dimensional proportion of the concave parts is in a range from 1.0-40, and the average interval among the concave parts is in a range from 0.5-15(mu)m. |
