abstract The invention aims to provide a bunge auriculate root extractive for preventing renal fibrosis as well as a preparation method and a pharmaceutical composition of the bunge auriculate root extractive. The bunge auriculate root extractive has an obvious effect on preventing the renal fibrosis and can be used in drugs for preventing or treating the renal fibrosis. A bunge auriculate root is extracted by 59 % (vol) ethanol, an extracting solution is dried under reduced pressure, and the extractive is prepared. The bunge auriculate root extractive is taken as an active ingredient and mixed with auxiliary materials which are acceptable in pharmacy, so that commonly-used dosage forms such as a tablet, a capsule, a granule, a mixture, an oral solution, a dropping pill, syrup, a tincture, an injection and the like can be prepared. Animal experiments show that the bunge auriculate root extractive can obviously reduce renal indexes and the content of hydroxyproline in renal tissue, inflammatory cells of the renal tissue are obviously reduced, the proliferation degree of fibrous tissue is relieved, renal interstitium collagen is obviously reduced, lesion is substantially improved, and the bunge auriculate root extractive indeed has effects on preventing and treating the renal fibrosis.
