The invention relates to a method for producing flexible polyurethane foams, wherein a polyol component containing polyricinoleic acid ester is used as the starting substance. In accordance with DIN EN ISO 3386-1-98, the flexible polyurethane foams according to the invention have a bulk density ranging from >=10 kg/m3 to <= 150 kg/m3, preferably from >= 20 kg/m3 to <= 70 kg/m3, and in general, the compressive strength ranges between >= 0.5 kPa and <= 20 kPa (at 40% deformation and fourth cycle) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3386-1-98. The polyricinoleic acid esters can be obtained by reacting ricinoleic acid with an alcohol component which comprises monohydric and/or polyhydric alcohols having a molecular mass of >= 32 g/mol to <= 400 g/mol, and wherein the reaction is carried out, at least in part, in the presence of a catalyst. |
