abstract |
The invention provides a carbon catalyst for hydrogen production, which shows high catalytic activity, a method for producing the catalyst, and a method for producing hydrogen using the catalyst. The carbon catalyst for hydrogen production according to the invention is a carbon catalyst obtained by carbonization of a starting material containing an organic compound and a transition metal and is used for hydrogen production by pyrolysis of a hydrocarbon compound and/or an oxygen-containing organic compound. Further, the carbon catalyst for hydrogen production may be obtained by allowing a carbonized material obtained by the carbonization to support an alkaline earth metal. |
