titleOfInvention Electro-optic isolator and manufacturing method thereof
abstract The invention discloses an electro-optic isolator and a manufacturing method of the electro-optic isolator. Lithium niobate crystalline materials are adopted, and a period of the lithium niobate crystal is calculated according to phase matching conditions at room temperature. Electric field polarization is carried out on the crystal according to the period, 1.5 domains are cut from one end of the crystal, so that a period polarization lithium niobate crystal with the even number of complete domains and an incomplete domain is obtained. Nickel electrodes are plated at two sides of an axis b of the crystal. The obtained crystal is placed in an optical path, an axis c is along the z-axis direction, and the light passing direction is along the x-axis direction. A polarizer is arranged at the other end of a light passing shaft of the crystal. Voltage is externally connected at two sides of the axis b of the crystal, a steady electric field is provided in the y-axis direction inside the crystal, a polarization plane rotates 90 degrees after linearly polarized lights make a round trip to pass the crystal, namely the polarization direction is perpendicular to the polarizer, and therefore the purpose of optical isolation is achieved.
