titleOfInvention | Method for High Yield Isolation of Target Nucleic Acids Including Small Target Nucleic Acids |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method for isolating target nucleic acids, including small target nucleic acids, from a sample, said method comprising at least the following step a) binding at least a portion of the target nucleic acids, including small target nucleic acids, to said sample by passing said sample through a column a nucleic acid-binding solid phase contained in the column, b) subjecting the nucleic acid-binding solid phase to enzymatic and/or chemical treatment while target nucleic acid is bound to said solid phase, c) collecting the nucleic acid released from said solid phase during said step b) treatment at least a portion of the small target nucleic acids as effluent, d) contacting said effluent containing the small target nucleic acids mixed with the recovery solution with a nucleic acid binding solid phase for binding the contained small target nucleic acids to said nucleic acid binding solid phase, e) Elution is optional. The present invention results in a significant increase in the yield of small target nucleic acids in isolated target nucleic acids because of its efficient capture and recovery of small target nucleic acids. |
