titleOfInvention Traditional Chinese medicine composition for treating senile constipation
abstract The invention discloses a traditional Chinese medicine composition for treating senile constipation. The traditional Chinese medicine considers that constipation of an orthopaedic elderly patient is caused by meridians and blood stasis resistance, blood stasis and qi stagnation, disordered viscera function, inverse air mechanism, imbalance of functions of ascending lucidity and descending turbidity, and abnormal intestinal conduction due to the fact that abnormal flow of the blood exists in the body after bone fracture. Therefore, the traditional Chinese medicines of fiveleaf akebia fruit, rhizoma polygonati, wampee seed, spina date seed, and rhizoma zingiberis are selected to achieve the targets of regulating the flow of vital energy and removing obstruction toit, promoting blood circulation to arrest pain, and invigorating spleen and replenishing qi. The total effective rate can achieve 97.5% by our clinical trials, and is obviously higher than that of a control group. Although the defecating time is not shorter than that of laxative, the traditional Chinese medicine composition has the effect of treating both symptoms and root causes, so that mechanism of qi of the gerontal patient is restored; the gerontal patient is harmonious between yin and yang; the gastrointestinal motility is increased; and the targets of purgating and relaxing the bowels are achieved.
