abstract The invention aims at the shortcomings that inorganic nanometer particles are easy to conglomerate and poor in compatibility with a polymer, a polymer emulsion is unstable, and directional conglomerating of emulsion bundles is easy to appear and residues are easy to generate during the polymerization process in a traditional inorganic or organic composite emulsion, and provides a preparing method of a composite styrene-acrylic emulsion containing silicon dioxide. The preparing method includes: using an in situ sol-gel method to produce nanometer silicon dioxide particles which are uniformly dispersed in monomer, and controllable in particle morphology and particle diameters; then preparing a seed emulsion containing the silicon dioxide particles after obtaining a styrene-acrylic pre-emulsion by using mixed type emulsifiers; and finally preparing the composite styrene-acrylic emulsion by adopting a seed emulsion polymerization method. By adopting the preparing method, the styrene-acrylic emulsion of which silicon dioxide is high in filling volume, and uniformly and stable dispersed in the emulsion is obtained.
