The invention is a high-rate and high-energy cathode material for lithium batteries, and relates to a non-aqueous electrochemical battery, which includes an anode, an electrolyte and a cathode, wherein the cathode contains copper manganese vanadium oxide and optional carbon fluoride. The non-aqueous electrochemical cells of the present invention can improve or enhance one or more performance characteristics of the non-aqueous electrochemical cells, such as specific energy, energy density, operating voltage and/or rate performance, by using a cathode material comprising copper manganese vanadium oxide. |
