titleOfInvention | Specification device for water status of soil, and method for same |
abstract | When specifying the water content of soil, electrical conductivity has an effect, and when specifying the electrical conductivity, water content has an effect. Therefore, even when measuring each of the characteristics separately, errors are included in the obtained values. A pair of electrodes is brought into contact with soil, an AC input electrical signal is applied to one of the electrodes, the phase of an output electrical signal from the other electrode and the phase of the input electrical signal are compared, and the ion density of the water in the soil is identified from the variation. The phase variation has nothing to with the water content of the soil. As the electrical conductivity of soil is proportionate to the ion density and the water content, if the ion density of one is identified, the water content of the soil can be identified from the actual value of the electrical conductivity of the soil. |
