abstract The invention relates to a preparation method of a formed carbon-based material, which is characterized by comprising the following steps: (1) performing ball milling on powdery activated carbon or granular activated carbon; (2) mixing the activated carbon powder subjected to ball milling with iron nitrate, aluminum silicate, asphalt and chitosan; (3) heating and stirring the slurry to form a stable slurry with a high solid content; (4) pouring the treated slurry onto the top end surface of a carrier, vertically arranging the carrier along the pore path direction or vertically arranging the carrier in a manner that the angle between the pore path direction of the carrier and the vertical direction is not bigger than 30 degrees, and then enabling the carrier to vibrate in a vertical reciprocating manner, wherein the vibration frequency is 10-60 Hz, the vibration amplitude is 1-10 mm, and the slurry is quickly and evenly coated on the carrier under the action of self weight in the vibration process, thus forming a slurry layer with a thickness of 0.5-5 mm; and (5) performing heating/cooling drying treatment four times to obtain the formed carbon-based material. The preparation method provided by the invention can increase the spatial contact area of the activated carbon formed material and effectively reduce gas-flow resistance, and is beneficial to secondary development such as surface modification and the like.
