abstract | The invention discloses a method for one-step preparation of 2-methylquinoline. The method comprises that nitrobenzene, ethanol and water as starting materials undergo a reaction in the presence of a PtSn/gamma-Al2O3 catalyst to produce 2-methylquinoline, wherein the PtSn/gamma-Al2O3 catalyst carries 0.07 to 3.06% of Pt and 1.21 to 12.1% of Sn. The PtSn/gamma-Al2O3 catalyst can realize one-step synthesis of 2-methylquinoline from nitrobenzene, ethanol and water. The method has simple processes, a simple flow and low equipment requirements, improves production efficiency and reduces a production cost. |
