abstract | The invention discloses a method for preparing a tetra-tert-butyl orthotitanate composite, and relates to a catalyst for preparing room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (RTV). The method comprises the following steps of: adding 1 molar part of tetraisopropyl titanate and 0 to 0.2 molar part of low-grade glycol into a reaction kettle, stirring at the temperature of between 60 and 70 DEG C, reacting for 0.5 to 1 hour, and distilling a low-boiling substance out under negative pressure; adding 4 to 10 molar parts of tertiary butanol accumulatively for three times into the reaction kettle containing the tetraisopropyl titanate and the low-grade glycol; after adding the tertiary butanol every time, stirring at the temperature of between 60 and 70 DEG C, and reacting for 2 to 2.5 hours; and distilling the low-boiling substance out under the negative pressure to form the tetra-tert-butyl orthotitanate composite. According to the method, the preparation process is easy; and the prepared tetra-tert-butyl orthotitanate composite is stable in quality and can be used as the catalyst for transparent demethanol RTV. |
