abstract | The invention relates to a new application of traditional Chinese medicines, i.e. an application of sedum purpureum for preparation of pharmaceuticals for treating tumors. According to the invention, a systematical preliminary test method and a liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) coupling technique are adopted to analyze the chemical ingredients of sedum purpureum, so as to define the main chemical ingredients or a compound structural type of the sedum purpureum. Moreover, the anti-tumor active part of the sedum purpureum can be determined. On the basis of the early-stage preliminary test experiment, a water alcohol method is used for extraction; alcohol is recycled from the extracting solution under reduced pressure until no alcohol smell can be smelt; and then the extracting solution is extracted with petroleum ether, ethyl acetate and a n-butyl alcohol solvent sequentially, so as to obtain corresponding organic solvent extracts and water-soluble ingredients. The functions of all the ingredients for inhibiting the tumor cells are evaluated at a cell level, so the active ingredients of the sedum purpureum for resisting tumors are determined. Moreover, an in-vivo anti-tumor experiment of the sedum purpureum water decoction shows that the sedum purpureum has a certain anti-tumor activity, which provide a scientific basis for the development, utilization and clinic practice of sedum purpureum finished pharmaceuticals in the future. |
