titleOfInvention Shell type needle bearing and joint cross type universal joint
abstract In order to implement a structure for a joint cross type universal joint, and for a shell type needle bearing used in this universal joint, with which both low friction and durability are achieved by maintaining suitable sealing performance even in applications having severe usage conditions, the portion of the outer surfaces of a shell type outer ring (9a) which could make sliding contact with the leading edges of at least two seal lips (17, 18) of the multiple seal lips of a seal ring (14) is selectively covered with a corrosion-resistant coated film. Preferably the entire outer surface of the shell type outer ring is covered with a corrosion-resistant chemical conversion coated film.
