titleOfInvention Method for preparing spherical magnesium hydroxide
abstract The invention relates to a method for preparing spherical magnesium hydroxide. The method comprises the following steps of: (1) adding magnesium salt into an open container A with water and stirring to completely dissolve the magnesium salt to obtain magnesium ion solution with the magnesium ion concentration of less than or equal to 3mol/L; (2) adding ammonia water into an open container B; and (3) simultaneously placing the open container A and the open container B into a sealed container C, standing for 30 to 72,000min under the condition of the temperature of 20 to 100 DEG C to obtain white precipitate in the open container A, filtering the white precipitate, washing the white precipitate by deionized water until no sulphate ions exist in filtrate, obtaining white solids and drying the white solids to the constant weight so as to obtain the spherical magnesium hydroxide. According to the invention, by utilizing the effumability and the solubility of ammonia, ammonia gas in the ammonia water is dissolved in the magnesium ion solution again after being volatilized and is used as a precipitator for precipitate magnesium ions and then the precipitate is washed and dried to obtain the spherical magnesium hydroxide with regular morphology. According to the invention, raw materials are easy to obtain; the cost is low; the process flow is short; and the method is simple to operate.
