titleOfInvention | System for sterilizing contact lens |
abstract | A system for sterilizing contact lenses with hydrogen peroxide. In the system, the efficiency of neutralizing the hydrogen peroxide is heightened to reduce the amount of the metal contained in a metallic catalyst to be used, thereby advantageously attaining resource saving. The system for sterilizing contact lenses has a constitution in which the contact lenses to be sterilized are immersed in a hydrogen-peroxide-containing disinfectant solution having a hydrogen peroxide concentration of 1-10%, and the hydrogen peroxide present in the disinfectant solution, on the other hand, is brought into contact with a metallic catalyst to neutralize the hydrogen peroxide. The disinfectant solution contains either an organic carboxylic acid having a structure including one carbon atom having a hydroxy group and a carboxy group which are bonded thereto or a salt of the carboxylic acid. The disinfectant solution has a pH regulated to 6-8, and the disinfectant solution which has undergone the neutralization has an osmotic pressure of 250-350 mOsm. |
