abstract The invention belongs to the field of a preparation method of a diagnostic agent, in particular to a preparation method of serinol by normal-pressure catalytic reduction. The method comprises the following steps: reducing a raw material 5-nitro-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane through a reduction system consisting of a catalyst and hydrazine hydrate; reducing nitro-group into amino group; and hydrolyzing acetone protecting group with hydrochloric acid to obtain high-purity serinol, wherein the catalyst can be recycled. The method has the characteristics of high yield, high purity and low cost.
