abstract The invention relates to a selenium-enriched chromium-enriched medicine for adjuvant therapy of diabetes mellitus. The medicine is characterized by comprising, by mass, 15%-20% of hibiscus manihot L, 10%-20% of cardamine violifolia, 15%-30% ofpotentilla chinensis, 8%-10% of dried rhizome of rehmannia, 8%-10% of asparagus fern, 5%-8% of astragalus mongholicus, 15%-30% of solomon's seal and 8%-12% of pseudo-ginseng powder, wherein all the materials are decocted with water by slow fire. A preparation process of the selenium-enriched chromium-enriched medicine for adjuvant therapy of diabetes mellitus includes: firstly, powdering cardamine violifolia, solomon's seal, the dried rhizome of rehmannia, asparagus fern and astragalus mongholicus and feeding the powder into a heating container, adding water in quantity six times of that of the powder, soaking the powder in the water for 1.5 hours, decocting for 1.5 hours by slow fire and then filtering; secondly, repeating the steps twice to treat residues, mixing filtrates generated three times and decocting the filtrates into extract; and thirdly, grinding hibiscus manihot L and pseudo-ginseng powder respectively, filtering the ground powder by a 60-mesh sieve and then mixing the filtered powder with the extract uniformly. The selenium-enriched chromium-enriched medicine for adjuvant therapy of diabetes mellitus is added with no preservative and is non-toxic, harmless, safe and effective.
