abstract The invention discloses methods for rapidly breaking a dormant state of seeds of heterophylly falsestarwort root and performing germination test. The method for rapidly breaking the dormant state of the seeds of the heterophylly falsestarwort root comprises the following steps of: cleaning fine sand with the fineness of 1 to 3mm, drying and sterilizing at the temperature of 120 to 122 DEG C for 20 to 25min, and loading into a water leakage container; soaking the seeds of the heterophylly falsestarwort root in distilled water at normal temperature for 20 to 26h, loading into a canvas bag, and burying in the fine sand, wherein the buried depth is 5 to 8cm; and placing the container in an environment at the temperature of -2 to 3 DEG C, and stratifying for 35 to 70 days. By controlling stratification time, germination temperature and illumination, the germination rate of the seeds of the heterophylly falsestarwort root reaches over 85 percent; and the methods are easy to operate, the accuracy of the germination test is high, the improvement of the growth rate, vigorous rate and regular rate of plants is facilitated, the seedling cultivation period is effectively shortened, the seedling cultivation cost is reduced, and the problems of long dormant period and difficult germination test of the seeds of the heterophylly falsestarwort root are radically solved.
