abstract The invention relates to a medicament for preventing and treating atherosclerosis and a preparation method of a granular formulation, which are applied to the technical field of medicine. The medicament comprises the components of astragalus mongholicus, hawthorn, polygonum multiflorum, semen cassia, rhizoma alismatis, seaweed, ligusticum wallichii and angelica. The preparation method of the granular formulation comprises the following steps of: adding water to distill ligusticum wallichii and angelica; keeping distillate and decoction; heating and refluxing astragalus mongholicus, polygonum multiflorum and semen cassia twice by using ethanol; filtering; decompressing a filtrate; and recycling ethanol to obtain an ethanol extract of the medicament; adding water to decoct hawthorn, rhizoma alismatis, seaweed, astragalus mongholicus, polygonum multiflorum and semen cassia together; finely filtering; concentrating by using a triple-effect energy-saving concentrator to a relative density; drying a concentrated solution by using a spray drying method to prepare extractum powder; granulating; checking; and sub-packaging in an aluminum plastic film bag to obtain a finished product. The medicament provided by the invention has the advantages of simplicity in components, clear compatibility, less medicament taste, low price, and remarkable curative effect; and animal experiments show that the medicament has the effects of regulating blood lipid, protecting vascular endothelial cells, inhibiting expression of inflammatory factors and remarkably preventing and treating atherosclerosis.
