abstract The invention provides a human body posture detection method and device. The human body posture detection method comprises the following steps of: obtaining a training image and calibrating positions of human hands, a human face and eyes in the training image; determining human face characteristic parameters based on the positions of the human face and the eyes, wherein the human face characteristic parameters comprise a distance between the two eyes, a human face width and a human face inclined angle; establishing a human body trunk model, wherein the human body trunk model is provided with trunk characteristic parameters; combining a foreground color corresponding to a human body trunk, a background color except the human body trunk and the trunk characteristic parameters to detect the human body trunk in the training image; establishing an upper half body model of the human body, wherein the upper half body model of the human body is provided with joint characteristic parameters; and combining the foreground color corresponding to the human body trunk, the background color except the human body trunk and the joint characteristic parameters to detect the posture of the upper half body of the human body. By utilizing the technical scheme, various types of human body postures can be effectively detected under each image background and the human body posture detection method and device have good robustness to different clothes and illuminations.
