abstract An iron main body (1) comprises: an ironing face (6) in which a front end section (6a) and a rear end section (6b) are formed in a tapered shape; and a concave power-receiving section (14) having a power-receiving terminal (15). A stand (16) comprises: a placement section (17) on which the iron main body (1) is placed at an inclination with the front thereof raised; a convex power supply section (18) having an electrode (20); and an accommodating section (24). When the cordless iron is placed with the iron main body (1) on the stand (16), the rear end section (6b) is accommodated in the accommodating section (24), the power-receiving section (14) and the power supply section (18) fit together, and the power-receiving terminal (15) and the electrode (20) electrically connect. In addition, the portion of the power-receiving terminal (15) connected to the electrode (20) is positioned forward of the rear end section (6b). Therefore, the area of the ironing face (6) is maintained and thermal capacity is maintained, and it is possible for the rear end section (6b) to be formed in a tapered shape. Also, the rear end section (6b) is visible.
