abstract The invention discloses a method for detecting the quality of a compound cordate houttuynia mixture. According to the method, a high performance liquid chromatography is adopted; octadecylsilane bonded silica gel is used as a filling agent; and a phosphoric acid solution at the concentration of 0.1 percent is used as a flow phase A, and methyl alcohol is used as a flow phase B, so that gradient dilution is realized. According to the method, relevant characteristic components of four traditional Chinese medicines, namely cordate houttuynia, radix scutellariae, fructus forsythiae and honeysuckle, in the compound cordate houttuynia mixture can be detected and reflected in a fingerprint; and therefore, the method has great significance for control over the quality of the compound cordate houttuynia mixture.
