abstract The invention provides a method for preparing melanin and precursors thereof by utilizing a complex enzyme. The method comprises the following steps: utilizing the complex enzyme containing tyrosinase, which is extracted from bacillus fermentation liquid producing the melanin, taking tyrosine and/or a derivative thereof as a substrate, and generating the melanin and the precursors thereof by enzymatic reaction. The complex enzyme used by the method is stable in source, high in enzyme activity and high in production efficiency; the production of a series of the melanin precursors through the enzymatic reaction method is simple, convenient and easy to operate, the enzyme can be further used repeatedly through a carrier immobilization method, the cost is further reduced, the production efficiency is improved, and the prepared melanin precursors can be used as effective hair dyes and antioxidants.
