abstract |
A ferromagnetic material separation apparatus comprises a separation chamber into which a gaseous or aqueous stream containing a heterogeneous powder mixture dispersed therein and containing ferromagnetic particles is introduced to separate the ferromagnetic particles from particles of other powdery material according to the difference in mass, and a magnetic field-generating unit which is disposed so as to apply a magnetic force to the ferromagnetic particles in the heterogeneous powder mixture in the separation chamber in the direction toward a collection zone for the separated ferromagnetic material. Thereby, for example, as in the case of separation of an iron component from pulverized iron slag, the ferromagnetic material can efficiently be separated from the heterogeneous powder mixture containing ferromagnetic material. |
