abstract | Disclosed is a vehicle controller wherein an engine is stopped automatically while driving and assist control is carried out appropriately. It is estimated that the negative pressure of a booster is in a state near vacuum when the engine is in operating state, and is in a state near the atmospheric pressure when the engine is in automatic stop state. Consequently, the master cylinder liquid pressure increases behind increasing of the brake operation force in the automatic stop state of engine due to lag in the assist by the booster. When the gradient of increase in master cylinder liquid pressure exceeds the threshold for decision of emergency operation and assist control is carries out at the time of emergency operation, the threshold of for decision of emergency operation is set at a standard value ThdPo in the operating state of the engine (S23), and set at a value (ThdPo-[delta]dPo) smaller than the standard value in the automatic stop state of the engine (S25). Consequently, assist control can be carried out appropriately. |
