abstract The invention discloses a method for preparing a wastewater treatment agent from slag of gold mine tailings. The method comprises the steps of removing impurities from the slag of gold mine tailings, and pulverizing the slag to particles of 50 to 200 meshes; fully blending the slag particles with an adhesive, a pore forming agent and an activating agent, adding an additive, stirring and compressing to obtain a uniformly blended wet material; and molding the wet material by extrusion, and activating to obtain the wastewater treatment agent. The invention also discloses a wastewater treatment agent prepared by the above method, and application of the wastewater treatment agent in wastewater treatment. By using the slag of gold mine tailings to prepare the wastewater treatment agent, the method provided by the invention can make the waste profitable and utilize the waste to treat the waste, and has the advantages of low cost, simple and controllable process, and environment friendly process. The wastewater treatment agent provided in the invention has high advanced oxidation capacity in advanced oxidation reaction of wastewater, can achieve harmless treatment of dye wastewater that is difficult to be degraded, and is suitable for treatment of multiple kinds of wastewater systems.
