abstract This electronic component has lead wires, a functional device, and an outer housing. The lead wires have a metal extraction electrode that contains aluminum, a metal wire containing tin, and a welded part formed by welding a first end of the metal wire to a first end of the extraction electrode. A second end of the extraction electrode is connected to the functional device. The outer housing seals in the functional device such that a second end of the metal wire is taken to the outside. The lead wire also has a resin film that at least adheres to the part of the welded part that is not covered by the outer housing. The resin material constituting the resin film has a puncture strength per unit thickness of 0.05 MPa/[mu]m or greater and a modulus of elasticity of 10 GPa or less.
