abstract The invention discloses hydrophilic pectination epoxy resin and a preparation method thereof, which particularly relates to the field of functional polymer and is characterized in that the hydrophilic pectination epoxy resin is obtained by first initiating methacrylamide, acrylamide, hydroxy-propyl ethyl ester or methyl hydroxy-propyl ethyl ester on post-halogen-acetylation resin, then initiating glycidyl methacrylate or glycidyl acrylate, or initiating atom transfer radical polymerization of polymer mixture of the methacrylamide, the acrylamide, the hydroxy-propyl ethyl ester or the methyl hydroxy-propyl ethyl ester and the glycidyl methacrylate or the glycidyl acrylate. The largest weight increasing ratio of the epoxy resin can reach 3000%, and the epoxy group loading quantity can reach 5.72mmol/g- dry agent.
