abstract The invention disclosed a vanadate yellow phosphor, its preparation method and its application. The component of the vanadate is CsK2R<III>[V1-xMxO4]2, wherein R<III> is at least one ion selected from La<3+>, Ce<3+>, Pr<3+>, Nd<3+>, Sm<3+>, Eu<3+>, Gd<3+>, Tb<3+>, Dy<3+>, Ho<3+>, Er<3+>, Yb<3+>, Lu<3+>, Sc and Y<3+> ions; M is at least one ion selected from Ti<4+>, Zr<4+>, Ga<3+>, In<3+> ions; and x is the substitution amount of M ion for V<5+> with x being greater than or equal to 0.00001 and less than or equal to 0.3. The vanadate needs no activation ion and has a relatively strong excitation at near ultraviolet. Under the activation of near ultraviolet, the vanadate can give off bright yellow light. The preparation method provided by the invention is carried out in the atmosphere of air, has good crystallization of substrate at about 750 DEG C, saves energy and reduces costs.
