titleOfInvention Process for converting aliphatic cyclic amines to aliphatic diamines
abstract The present invention is a process for converting aliphatic cyclic amines to aliphatic diamines. The method that aliphatic cyclic amine is converted into aliphatic diamine comprises the following steps: (1) select one or more cyclic amines; (2) make described one or more cyclic amines and ammonia and hydrogen, Optional water, and optionally one or more solvents in the presence of one or more heterogeneous metal-based catalyst systems at a temperature of 120°C to about 250°C and a pressure of 700 to 3500 psig at one or Contacting in multiple reactor systems for at least 1 hour or longer; (3) forming a product mixture comprising one or more aliphatic diamines, optionally a portion of said one or more cyclic amines , an optional portion of the ammonia, an optional portion of the hydrogen, an optional water, and an optional portion of the one or more solvents; (4) removing the product mixture from the reactor system (5) removing at least a portion of said portion of ammonia, said portion of hydrogen, or a mixture thereof from said product mixture by distillation; (6) removing at least a portion of said portion of water by distillation; (7) removing at least a portion of said portion of one or more optional solvents via distillation; (8) removing at least a portion of said portion of one or more cyclic amines; (9) thereby separating said one or more aliphatic diamines; and (10) thereby converting the one or more cyclic amines into one or more aliphatic diamines.
