titleOfInvention Method for detecting violation vehicles at intersection based on vehicle ad hoc network (VANET)
abstract The invention discloses a method for detecting violation vehicles at an intersection based on a vehicle ad hoc network (VANET). All vehicles in an intersection region form the VANET, and all vehicles waiting for the green light are monitoring vehicles before a suspected vehicle comes. The method comprises the following steps of: according to different characteristics which are represented in the VANET, identifying the suspected vehicle; sending suspected vehicle reports to a base station by the monitoring vehicles; and determining the violation of the suspected vehicle by the base station. By applying the VANET to detection of a vehicle which runs the red light, according to the communication characteristics of the vehicle which runs the red light and other vehicles in the VANET, the vehicle which runs the red light can be automatically detected, the cost of manpower for monitoring is reduced, and the method can serve as an auxiliary system for traffic violation detection.
