abstract The invention provides a method and a system for generating CQI (Channel Quality Indicating) information. The method comprises the following steps: receiving a signal loaded by a non-HS-PDSCH (High-Speed Physical Downlink Shared Channel) downlink channel; obtaining a SNR (Signal to Noise ratio) of the non-HS-PDSCH downlink channel according to signal power; and mapping and generating the CQI information of a HS-PDSCH according to the SNR of the non-HS-PDSCH downlink channel. According to the method and the system for generating the CQI (Channel Quality Indicating) information provided by the invention, the CQI information of the HS-PDSCH is mapped and generated according to the SNR of the non-HS-PDSCH downlink channel, the problems that UE (User Equipment) is not scheduled for a long time and the CQI information cannot be generated because no HS-PDSCH is received are solved, and the CQI information of the HS-PDSCH is obtained by NodeB when the UE is not scheduled.
