abstract The invention provides a novel process for improving the yield of furfural by two-tower preparation and a dedicated comprehensive tower matched with the novel process. The novel process comprises the following steps of: cooling water and aldehyde mixed vapor; deslagging; carrying out rectification through a primary tower; carrying out vacuum distillation through the dedicated comprehensive tower;discharging dehydrated and deacidified furfural in less weight parts from the residue outlet at the bottom of the comprehensive tower; entering an evaporation kettle for evaporation; leading out furfural with a lower boiling point from the top end of the evaporation kettle; cooling by a third condenser, and forming liquid furfural to enter a finished product tank, wherein each tower joint of the dedicated comprehensive tower is at least internally and horizontally provided with two layers of float valve tower plates, valve holes are densely distributed in the float valve tower plates, one side of each float valve tower plate is provided with an arch-shaped hole, the other side of the lower layer of the float valve tower plate is provided with an arch-shaped hole, each arch-shaped hole is upwards provided with a vertical overflow weir, and each arch-shaped hole is downwards connected with an arch-shaped downcomer. According to the invention, as an alkali neutralization step is omitted,the process is simplified, the furfural yield is improved, the refining rate is over 90%, and the refining rate of furfural can be improved by 5-6% (percentage by weight).
