abstract | The invention discloses a three-stroke reciprocating piston type engine which has the advantages of a four-stroke engine and a two-stroke engine and overcomes the defects of the four-stroke engine and the two-stroke engine. An assistant piston for air exhaust and suction is arranged between a main piston and a cylinder cover of the engine; the assistant piston is driven by an assistant piston driving mechanism to finish air exhaust and suction functions in air exhaust and suction strokes; an upper chamber between the assistant piston and the cylinder cover is used for air suction, and a lower chamber between the main piston and the assistant piston is used for air exhaust; with the lower chamber as a thermal expansion chamber, the assistant piston is pushed by the main piston to reset in the compression stroke and finish an assistant compression function; at the terminal stage of compression stroke, compressed air in the upper chamber is completely extruded into the thermal expansion chamber through an air guide channel and is subjected to compression ignition in the thermal expansion chamber directly or ignited by an ignition device; and the main piston finishes a working stroke and a compression stroke and helps the assistant piston reset. The three-strike reciprocating piston type engine has the advantages of low emission, high efficiency and high power per liter and is especially suitable for occasions requiring engines to have high power, small size, light weight and low emission. |
