abstract The invention relates to a high-pressure discharge lamp (1) having two electrodes (16, 18) arranged in a discharge vessel (6). Two piston shafts (9, 10) are arranged on the discharge vessel (6), wherein a current feed system (20, 24, 26, 28, 30) for the electrodes (16, 18) penetrates said shafts. According to the invention, the outer current feed (28, 30) on the anode side is in direct thermal and electric contact with a cooling element (12).
