titleOfInvention Percutaneous implants and ostomy methods
abstract A percutaneous ostomy implant for implantation into the abdominal wall of a patient comprising a barrel portion for mounting an external removable instrument thereto, an ingrowth mesh and a round for anchoring the implant shaped flange. A barrel portion and a circular flange are attached to opposite ends of the ingrowth mesh. The ingrowth mesh is arranged such that when the implant is implanted in the patient's abdominal wall, the epidermis encounters the ingrowth mesh and can attach directly therethrough to the serosal tissue of the intestinal segment of the implant.
