abstract The invention relates to a photocatalysis material for treating organic pollutants in water and a preparation method thereof. The photocatalysis material is an europium and nitrogen codoped titanium oxide microballoon with a special drum-shaped rattle structure. Doping of nitrogen renders the catalyst visible photolytic activity; doping of europium facilitates increase of transmission rate of photoproduction electrons, reduction of composite between photoproduction electrons and a cavity and enhancement of photocatalysis performance of the catalyst; a hollow structure of the shape of drum-shaped rattle enables multiple reflection of incident light in an inner cavity and increases utilization efficiency of luminous energy. The catalyst has strong catalytic activity under visible light, can rapidly reduce concentration of organic pollutants in water in a short time and finally completely degrade almost all the pollutants, is suitable for treating organic waste water, easily prepared by a simple preparation method and has a wide application prospect.
