The invention discloses a transcription factor GmbZIP123 related to fatty acid metabolic regulation, a coding gene thereof, and an application thereof. The protein provided by the invention is the following (a), (b) or (c): (a) a protein composed of an amino acid sequence represented by the sequence 1 in the sequence list; (2) a plant-fatty-acid-metabolism-related protein derived from the sequence 1, wherein the amino acid sequence represented by the sequence 1 is processed through substitution and/or deletion and/or addition of one or more amino acid residues; (c) a plant-fatty-acid-metabolism-related protein composed of an amino acid sequence with at least 75% of homology with that represented by the sequence 1. The fatty-acid-related regulation protein and the coding gene thereof provided by the invention have important significance in cultivating high-oil-content plants, and improving fatty acid content in plants and especially plant seeds. The protein and the coding gene provided by the invention has wide application prospect in the cultivation of high-oil-content plants. |
