abstract The present invention relates to novel 1,6-disubstituted pyrazolopyrimidinones of formula (I), wherein Hc is tetrahydropyranyl- and R is a group VW-*, wherein V and W independently of each other are aromatic radical or heteroaryl, which aryl or heteroaryl are independently of each other optionally substituted. According to one aspect of the present invention, the novel compound is used as a medicament or for the preparation of a medicament, especially for use or in the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of disorders associated with deficits in sensation, concentration, learning or memory. The novel compounds are also useful for the preparation of medicaments and/or for the treatment of, for example, Alzheimer's disease, especially cognitive impairment associated with Alzheimer's disease.
